Fluorescent Tubes Recycling
A huge amount of fluorescent light tubes are scrapped every year, having been simply crushed leading to thousands of tonnes of mercury and lead contaminated glass going to the landfill.

lightTubes.jpgNow classified as Hazardous Waste producers must segregate light Tubes and dispose of in compliance with the Hazardous Waste Regulations (HWR) 2005.

Over 100 million light tubes are used in the UK every year. With the introduction of the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005 recycling is becoming the most cost effective option as well as being Environmentally welcoming.

Advancing technology now offers new opportunities to recycle all the Parts and is the most effective method to minimise waste and ensure the efficient use of natural resources.

As a producer of hazardous waste you are legally required to register your premises with the Environment Agency annually. If you produce less than 200kg you could be exempt from this requirement, however when considering this amount you must consider ALL the hazardous waste produced at those premises. For further information contact us.

Remember It is an offence for any waste collection and disposal company to collect waste from a site that
has not been notified or is not exempt.
