Since the introduction of the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005 there are now hundreds of items classified as hazardous waste. The most common items you might find around your business are paints, adhesives, toner, inks, solvents, fridges, freezers, microwaves, fire extinguishers, oily rags, oil and fuel filters to name a few– none of which should be placed in the normal dry waste containers. All of these different waste streams need careful handling, which means the right containers and the right classification.
At Burrwood we are able to provide containers to meet your requirements for the appropriate waste stream, and ensure compliance with current regulations. We can offer a bespoke service for multiple collections or a one off service. All waste streams must be identified and listed according to the European Waste Catalogue (EWC). Prior to any collection we are able to offer advice and guidance and ensure correct identificatio and appropriate classification of all hazardous waste.
We also offer segregation , packing and labelling of small laboratory chemicals ready for onward disposal.
We produce detailed consignment notes for each collection to ensure that they are dealt with in the correct manner.
